Project Description
Project summary
A public dialogue on the social impact of offshore renewables was commissioned by Marine Scotland with support from UK Research and Innovation’s Sciencewise programme.
The project consisted of two rounds of facilitated public dialogue events. The first round involved six one-day events engaging a total of 96 people; five events were held in coastal locations and the sixth took place in Glasgow, bringing in the perspective of people not directly affected by offshore renewables projects. A second-round event brought a selection of participants together from the all the locations to discuss overarching issues.
The project developed elements of a conceptual framework on social values that can be used to support and inform processes for assessing the potential social impacts of offshore renewables plans.
The dialogue was delivered by a consortium led by Collingwood Environmental Planning, and independently evaluated by 3KQ Ltd.
