Project Description
Project summary
Early on in the process of developing ways for households to reduce their carbon emissions, the Committee on Climate Change, supported by Sciencewise, ran a sounding board which explored the views of 17 members of the public on non-financial barriers to the uptake of low-carbon heat technologies. This was not designed to be a representative sample of the views of the whole population, but act as a starting point which indicated what public experiences of low-carbon heat technologies might be and how they could be made more appealing. Therefore as it was so early on in the policy process, the sounding boards influence was in helping set the agenda and frame future discussions on the matter. The sounding board was run in 2016.
